United Cerebral Palsy of Greater New Orleans was founded in 1946 by a group of parents who had children with cerebral palsy and it was incorporated in 1950.  We are an affiliate of United Cerebral Palsy, a leading service provider and advocate for adults and children with disabilities, including cerebral palsy. As one of the largest health nonprofits in America, the UCP mission is to advance the independence, productivity and full citizenship of people with disabilities through an affiliate network.

UCP Greater New Orleans is staffed by a team of experienced, competent and caring professionals, and is governed by a diverse and talented team of volunteers. Both staff and volunteers include parents, family members and people with disabilities who are united in community and purpose.

The agency is a multifaceted community-based resource serving children and adults in Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St Bernard, St Tammany and Tangipohoa parishes. We are in the process of expanding services in other geographic areas of the state.

UCP Greater New Orleans is a nonprofit corporation recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a Sec. 501 (c) 3 tax exempt organization.  Our organization invests approximately 85% of all revenue to the provision of quality services.
