The United States contributes much of the world’s funding for therapies and rehabilitation to address the causes and effects of the range of disabilities. Research protocols today are examining the causes and potential therapies to address cerebral palsy and developmental disabilities, such as autism. Additionally, there is a specific focus on traumatic brain injury and rehabilitation therapies. Much of this work is funded by the federal government with the balance mostly provided by private research foundations.
